Adult ID requirements:
In order to receive a piercing at Mint Piercing, you must fill out a Mint Piercing Release Form and present one of the following forms of identification:
State issued driver's license identification card
Resident alien card
Military identification card
Our release form is available to fill out online or in person. If you are 18 years or older, you are able to get any of the piercings we offer with proper ID.
Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If you are not the parent of the minor wanting to get a piercing, you must present court documentation that proves legal guardianship.
Our goal at Mint Piercing is to make sure that every client and situation is handled with care, especially when it comes to younger clients. Part of that is recognizing which piercings have a higher risk of problems in young or changing bodies, We appreciate your understanding.
We offer a variety of piercing services to minors when they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and meet all of the ID requirements. If the piercing is not listed under your age group, we will not do that piercing on you or your child.
Minor age and requirements:
5 and Up can receive:
Earlobes. Consults are also available to book online. 5 and up can get pierced in West Des Moines. 7 and up can get pierced in Ankeny.
We suggest consults for kids' ear piercings. This GREATLY increases our chances to connect with the child and guide them through a positive experience. In some cases, we may also recognize signs that the child may not actually be ready and suggest holding off for a while longer. Info about this and more can be found in our Kid's Ear Piercings Page.
